Writing Assignment: A
two-page, double-spaced, typewritten paper will count 5 percent of your
grade. This writing assignment is a requirement of the course. A
guideline for acceptable topics and the format will be announced in class
and posted on the Web site. The writing assignment will be due no later
than May 28, 2008. No late papers
|
Make-up exams must be requested prior to the scheduled day of the
exam. An attempt will be made to accommodate special situations. A grade of Incomplete
can be given only for a "serious and compelling" reason, such as personal
illness and when the majority of the course work has already been completed. An incomplete
cannot be given in lieu of a low grade. |
Communication: I would enjoy having the opportunity to talk with
you about the class or your educational goals. Come by my office in building
18A, room 1 (NE corner of the building),
during office hours or call me at 909 594-5611 Ext.3139 . Also, you can contact me via
e-mail
([email protected]), which I check frequently.
The class Web site will be updated at least weekly and will contain the course syllabus,
announcements, grades, and many
economics related links. |
You are responsible for all assigned reading, for all material
covered in class, and for all announcements made in class. If you miss class, you should
check the announcements on the Web site and get the notes from a reliable classmate before
the next class. |
The exam dates are firm. The exams will consist of multiple-choice
questions drawn primarily from the quizzes and the read assignments. The lowest score
for an A in the course is 90; for a B, 80; for a C, 70; and for a D, 60. |
Grades will be posted to the course
Web site under
Progress
Report within a few days of each quiz or exam.
The Progress Report will remain on the Web site until two weeks after final exams.
|
Accessibility: At Mt. SAC, we strive to make our courses accessible to
everyone. We specifically consider design features that make our courses
accessible to individuals with disabilities, including those using assistive
technology for computer access. If you find a feature/course inaccessible to
you, please contact the instructor or DSPS at 909 594-5611, ext. 4290. |
Cheating and Plagiarism: See the Mt. San Antonio College Catalog,
page 246. Evidence of cheating will result in a zero grade on the exam or
assignment and may result in a grade of F for the course. In addition, the
actions of the student shall be reported to the Director, Student Life and to
the Director, Admissions and Records. No Exceptions. No Kidding. The college considers cheating a voluntary act for which there may be reasons, but for which there is no acceptable excuse ... The term "cheating" includes but is not limited to:
The instructor who determines that a student has cheated may give the student a failing grade for the assignment, for the course, or drop the student from the course. |
THE INSTRUCTOR IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR DROPPING ENROLLED STUDENTS. Students are obligated to officially withdraw even though they have not attended classes. Students who fail to officially withdraw are subject to a failing grade in the course. For more information, consult page 25 of the 2008 Spring Schedule of Credit Classes. |
